Sir Stanley Spencer, R.A. (1891-1959)

Sir Stanley Spencer executed a number of portraits in pencil in the late 1920s and early 1930s, many of people of importance to him, including the present work of David Gale, Spencer's gardener.

We are very grateful to Professor Keith Bell for his assistance in preparing this catalogue entry.
