Tutima. A rare and early nickeled brass pilot’s flyback chronograph wristwatch
Lot 211 The following two watches, lots 211 and 212, are rare flyback chronographs made by Tutima, the name derived from the Latin adjective “tutus”, meaning “safe” or “protected”. The firm was a brand of Glashütte’s Uhrenfabrik AG (UFAG) and launched the first German two pusher chronograph wristwatch with flyback function in 1941, the movements used the UROFA (Uhren-Rohwerke-Fabrik Glashütte AG) calibre 59.

At the end of 1945 production ceased when the manufacture was transferred to Moscow in order to produce chronographs for the Soviet Air Force.
