MOVEMENT: Mechanical, Caliber CH 27-70 Q, Geneva seal, 24 jewels
DIAL: Silvery opaline-white, gold square and baton numerals, outer fifth of a second combined with Arabic five minutes divisions, three subsidiary dials for constant seconds combined with 24 hour register, 30 minute register combined with leap year indication and date combined with moon phases, day, month
CASE: 18k gold, glazed display screw back, two round chronograph buttons in the band, 36 mm diam.
STRAP/BUCKLE: Brown Patek Philippe alligator strap, 18k gold Patek Philippe buckle

Specialist note

Highly attractive and ideally preserved, the present chronograph is part of the second series of the reference 3970. One of the first waterproof versions, the chronograph features a glazed display screw back, which explains the unusual case maker hallmark stamped to the outer lug, due to the lack of space a plain case back would have provided.

Sharp and clear, the gold hallmarks attest of the excellent condition of the wristwatch.
