Specialist note

A number of constructional features of this desk are associated with the work of Thomas Chippendale. These include chamfered drawer stops, scratch molding to the interior drawers, a red wash to the carcass and self centering casters beneath each pedestal, evidence of old packing nails under the top and the design of the decorative applied roundels.
