Reference 6611B (B for French “Brilliant” or diamond) is one of the rarest Day-Date models. The present example is distinguished by a combination of several elements, rendering it in addition one of the most exclusive and striking Day-Dates to be offered in recent years: the rare pink gold case, a champagne dial with alternating diamond and pink gold baton indexes and the original pink gold President bracelet, all crowned by the very attractive overall condition.

Rolex Day-Date
Introduced into the market at the Basel Fair in 1956, the Day-Date has ever since been one of Rolex flagship models, enjoying continuous popularity. It was the first calendar wristwatch displaying day and date, hence the name. Always a symbol of luxury and prestige it was immediately recognized as the watch worn by influential people, including a number of presidents such Eisenhower, Roosevelt, Kennedy, Nixon, Ford and Reagan, earning it the nickname “President”. This name is still used for the bracelet which was specially designed for this model.

Reference 6611 is from the second Day-Date generation, fitted with the new cal. 1055 movement with certification from the Swiss Office of Chronometer (COSC). Consequently the famous wording ‘Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified’ were used, instead of the ‘Officially Certified Chronometer’ designation of earlier models.
