Cal. 775 automatic movement, 2 jewels, white honeycomb dial, applied pink gold dagger and Arabic numerals, luminous accents, luminous hands, sweep centre seconds, tonneau-shaped water-resistant-type case, screw back, screw down crown, stainless steel expendable Rolex Oyster bracelet, deployant clasp stamped, case, dial and movement signed

Specialist note

The first two models to bear the legendary "Explorer" name were references 6150 and 6350, both introduced in 1953 after the successful ascent of Mount Everest by Sir Edmund Hilary and Tenzing Norgay. Whereas the first was fitted with the "Precision" movement, the latter featured a chronometer version.

Amongst the most sought after features of early Explorer models are the engine-turned dials, also called honeycomb. One of the ultimate exclusivities are the off-white honeycomb dials which were then reserved for the Canadian market.
