Lot 33 THE PROPERTY OF AN IMPORTANT SWISS COLLECTOR
The following two lots are two exceptionally well preserved timepieces bearing the so-called “Thunderbird” bezel. An iconic detail and a long standing favorite of Rolex collectors, it is defined by its elaborate engraving alternating Arabic and baton numerals with milled sectors. Its name derives from a period Rolex catalogue, where it appears on a piece which also bears on its dial the logo of the US Air Force flying team, known as “The Thunderbirds”.
