Rolex. A very rare and attractive 18K gold automatic wristwatch with sweep centre seconds, date, "Thunderbird" bezel and black dial
Lot 33 THE PROPERTY OF AN IMPORTANT SWISS COLLECTOR

The following two lots are two exceptionally well preserved timepieces bearing the so-called “Thunderbird” bezel. An iconic detail and a long standing favorite of Rolex collectors, it is defined by its elaborate engraving alternating Arabic and baton numerals with milled sectors. Its name derives from a period Rolex catalogue, where it appears on a piece which also bears on its dial the logo of the US Air Force flying team, known as “The Thunderbirds”.
