Mrs. Thatcher was photographed wearing this suit towards the end of her time as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (1979-1990). The hat was almost certainly amongst the group of hats commissioned by Lady Thatcher from Katherine Goodison for the 2007 celebrations to mark the twenty-fifth anniversary of the liberation of the Falkland Islands.
