On ivory
Rectangular, 80 x 62 mm., gilt-metal frame, the frosted surround engraved 'W. Naish. / Mr William Naish'
The back of the frame contains a trade label printed 'Mr Naish, Miniature Painter (Late Student of the Royal Academy,) Informs the Gentry of Bristol and its Vicinity that he takes Likenesses in Miniature from two to five guinea[s] at No. 43, Prince's Str[eet], Bristol. At home [from] ten [t]ill [three o'clock] / Gives out to no One'
