Specialist note

Nuneham House was built for Simon Harcourt, 1st Earl Harcourt in 1756 by Stiff Leadbetter. In order to create its Capability Brown landscaped grounds, Harcourt demolished the old village of Nuneham Courtenay and rebuilt it one mile to the north-east.
