Covered in a floral gros-point needlework panel with a burnt sienna velvet border, with metal-thread fringing, the S-scroll legs joined by carved stretchers and a turned H-shaped stretcher, the central stretcher replaced, originally ebonised
16 ½ in. (42 cm.) high; 17½ in. (44 cm.) wide; 16 in. (41 cm.) deep

Specialist note

A similar model of stool, although with angled legs and ball feet, was formerly in the Marble Hall at Houghton Hall, Norfolk.
