Specialist note

Laszlo Moholy-Nagy and Oskar Schlemmer met in Weimar and were both associated with the Bauhaus school. Oskar Schlemmer was in charge of the theatre workshop. The influence of Moholy-Nagy led Schlemmer to orientate his theatre lessons closer to the human figure in space and pure forms. He considered that the form had the ability of metaphysical revelation and that the human is a mechanical and mathematical creation that must form a whole with its physical expression.
