Specialist note

The small corpus of still life pictures attributed to Gerret van Berkborch, also known as Gillis and Gerard van Berleborch, indicates that he was active between 1650 and 1655. Though little is known to date of his life and career, his style suggests he was influenced by Willem Kalf, and perhaps formed part of his circle.
