The shield-shaped backplate cast with shell cresting and floral garlands and issuing a scrolled branch above a mask of Diana, stamped with the C couronné poinçon, re-gilt and drilled for electricity
10 in. (26 cm.) high

Specialist note

The C couronné poinçon was a tax mark employed between March 1745 and February 1749 on any alloy containing copper, indicating these appliqués must have been in the trade during those years.
