Specialist note

Launched in 1956, the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day-Date was the first self-winding waterproof wristwatch to display the date and day of the week. Throughout the years, the present model became one of the most successful and popular watch ever made.

Crafted only out of gold or platinum, the day-date was later nicknamed "president", as prominent government leaders as well as entrepreneurs and celebrities started wearing them on a regular basis.

In order to respond to demands of their clients, Rolex created various examples of the day-date. Variations of the model could be set with precious stones or lacquered dials, which are now highly sought after by the most intricate collectors.

Lacquered "Stella" dials were produced from the 1970s to the 1980s and represented the more cheerful side of Rolex. Through their deep colours, the present Day-Dates are offered here in excellent condition.
