Yoshihara Michio (1933-1996)

Yoshihara Michio was the second son of Yoshihara Jiro and graduated from the School of Economics at Kwansei Gakuin University in 1955. He was a founding member of the Gutai group in 1954 and remained in the group until it was dissolved in 1972. In his early career Yoshihara worked with natural materials such as earth, sand and rocks with little use of colour. It was later that he started to work with colour.
