GREEN PRINTED B & CIE MARKS FOR BERNARDAUD, LIMOGES, 20TH CENTURY,
in the 'Reine Elizabeth' pattern gilt with chinoiserie birds on branches either on a cream or white ground, with printed commemorative explanation in French for the reception of Queen Elizabeth II to France in April 1957, comprising a circular soup tureen and cover, two two-handled rectangular trays, two large oval platters, two smaller oval platters, a circular platter, a pair of cookie plates with ozier-molded borders, sixteen dinner plates, sixteen dessert plates, fourteen bread and butter plates, eight crescent-shaped dishes, seventeen two-handled soup bowls and nineteen saucers, two coffeepots and covers, a hot milk jug and cover, a cream jug, two two-handled sugar bowls and covers in sizes, seventeen teacups and eighteen saucers, six coffee cans and saucers, twenty-two demitasse and saucers, a circular box and cover, and a small dish; together with eight Limoges (Bernardaud) square dishes with canted corners similarly decorated with gilt birds amidst flowering branches on cranberry ground
