Jan Eversen (The Hague 1906-1995 Arnhem)
Lot 360 In the beginning of his career Eversen mainly painted portraits, but he slowly discovered the beauty of still life painting and specialised in this genre. Eversen's style was very traditional and although his paintings were made around 1950 they were very reminiscent to the renowned still life's from the 17th Century. Looking at his still life's it was no wonder Eversen was also known as the so-called Master of light; brilliantly making use of light and detail, he gave a very realistic impression of the objects he painted.
