Specialist note
The recipient of the painting is Huang Zhufu (Born 1913). He was born in Guangxi province and studied oil painting at Guangzhou Academy of Arts. He participated in the New Woodcut Movement after 1938 and created many woodcuts and cartoon works. He once served as the member of the party committee at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, the associate dean of the Department of Chinese Paintings, hence had friendship with many renowned artists.
