Prospective purchasers are advised that several countries prohibit the importation of property containing materials from endangered species, including but not limited to coral, ivory and tortoiseshell. Specialist note

An old inscription on the backing card identifies the sitter as Princess Mariora Calimachi however birth and death dates of 1762-1822 suggest that the identification is erroneous.
