MAKER'S MARK OF NICHOLLS AND PLINCKE, WITH THE WORSMASTER'S MARKS OF JONUS AUVIN, ANDERS LONG, AND GUSTAV SOHLMAN, ST PETERSBURG, CIRCA 1878-1879
Comprising a teapot, a coffee pot, a sugar bowl, a cream jug, a straining spoon, a pair of tongs, a swing-handled oval cake-basket and a tray; of tapering cylindrical form on circular foot, decorated throughout with engraved bands of geometric ornament, the pots and bowl with hinged covers, the baluster shaped finials with mother-of-pearl insulators, the pots also with ivory insulators, the tray with reeded border and scroll handles, all engraved with a monogram ‘M.A.’, marked throughout
