The kettle tapering and chased with shells and scrolls and with an overhead swing wicker covered handle, engraved with initials 'CR' below a royal crown, later engraved underneath 'EA' over 'Fs', the stand on three leaf-capped shell feet, the detachable lamp cover with gadrooned border, engraved on the lamp and cover with initials below a royal crown, marked under kettle, lamp and on lamp cover bezel

The initials on the kettle are those of Queen Charlotte (1744-1818), consort of King George III (1760-1820).
The initials EA Fs stand for 'Ernst Augustus Fidekommis', the entailed estate of Ernst Augustus, Duke of Cumberland.
