Painted in the Kakiemon style with scattered flower-sprays, the border with a coat-of-arms, the stepped rim moulded with gilt shells on each lobe

Specialist note

Count von Podewils was the Prussian Ambassador to Copenhagen and Stockholm from 1728 to 1729, and a cabinet minister for foreign affairs in Friedrich Wilhelm I's court.
