Specialist note

Possibly a stage design for Jean-Baptiste Lully's ballet, Le Triomphe de l'Amour, performed for the first time before King Louis XIV on 21 January 1681. Marot designed the frontispiece for the libretto by Philippe Quinault published in 1681.
