Specialist note
One of the very rare and highly collectible "FAP" (Fuerza Aerea del Perú) Rolexes, this example of single red Submariner made for the Peruvian Air Force is distinguished by the progressive military issue number lightly engraved to the outside of the case back, opposite of the FAP engraving. A peculiarity of the case back of FAP Rolexes together with the case number stamped to the inside of the case back, such numbers were engraved extremely lightly, and consequently most of them have faded because of polishing or even simple wearing of the timepiece. The present watch is an exception to the rule as rare as it is welcome. The feet first Mark III dial is in outstanding condition as well, the black background unspoiled and the red submariner indication vibrant. Such an appealing piece which will not fail to enthrall the collector of rare military watches as well as the connoisseur of exotic Rolex timepieces.
