According to our researches, this watch was sold in Abu Dhabi in 1998, with this engraved case back and black dial.

This example of Zenith Daytona is obviously distinguished by the exotic engraving on the case back. A member of the extremely appreciated and limited family of personalized Rolex timepieces, this specimen was made for the UAE. The gravure represents the UAE emblem, the proud desert eagle with inscribed in its chest a sailing ship, and holding a parchment bearing the name "United Arab Emirates". The quality of the engraving is outstanding, and its large size allows us to fully appreciate even the most intricate and minute of the details such as the waves of the sea and the legs of the eagle.
Reference 16520 engraved with the Dubai emblem is an outstandingly rare find, as suggested by the fact that this is the first time ever Christie's has the pleasure of offering such an example.
