Specialist note

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives stating the present watch with slate grey dial and white gold indexes was manufactured in 1988 and subsequently sold on 21 November 1988. Furthermore delivered with Patek Philippe presentation box stamped Patek Philippe 1839-1989.

Fresh to the market this watch is preserved in very good overall condition and believed to be one of less than ten examples of this model with slate grey dial to appear in public to date.

This special edition watch was manufactured exclusively for the Japanese market to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of Patek Philippe. According to our research, 500 pieces were manufactured in total with two different types of dials, ivory-white (see lot 116 in this sale) and slate grey (the present example).
