Die schon in 1941 als Entwurf entstandene Plastik, ist eine der wenigen Figuren in Max Bills Arbeiten, die im Wachsschmelzverfahren in Bronze gegossen wurde. Er entwarf speziell für diese Plastik einen Sockel aus Beton, welcher einen Kontrast zu der aus massiv vergoldeten Figur herstellt. Die Arbeit ist seit 1960 im gleichen Familienbesitz geblieben.
Drei weitere Versionen befinden sich im Kunsthaus Zürich, im Museum Moderner Kunst in Wien als Teil der öffentlichen Sammlung und im Privatbesitz.
This sculpture, made from a draft of 1941, is one of Max Bill's few figures in bronze that was cast using the lost wax technique. The socle that he designed in cement specifically for this piece offered a strong contrast to the completely gold-plated figure. This work has been the property of one family since 1960. Three further versions are to be found in the Kunsthaus Zurich, in the Museum Moderner Kunst in Vienna as a part of their public collection, and in private ownership.
