NEWTON'S New and Improved TERRESTRIAL GLOBE Accurately delineated from the observations of the most esteemed Navigators and Travellers To the Present Time, MANUFACTURED BY NEWTON & SON, 66 Chancery Lane. London Published Feby. 1. 1849 made up of twelve hand-coloured engraved gores and two polar calottes, with graduated equatorial, ecliptic and meridian, an analemma, explorers' tracks with dates and notes, nation states variously and delicately shaded, with towns, cities, rivers, mountains and various notes; NEWTON'S NEW & IMPROVED CELESTIAL GLOBE, On which all the Stars are taken from the elaborate and most approved Catalogue of Piazzi the Nebulas from Bode and the double Stars and those with proper motions from South. The Right Ascensions & Declinations of the whole having been recalculating and accurately laid down for the year 1840. BY MR. W. NEWTON. Manufactured by NEWTON & SON Chancery Lane. London Published 1st Mar. 1849; made up of twelve hand-coloured engraved gores and two celestial polar calottes, with graduated equatorial, colures and ecliptic with twilight zone, the pictorial constellations with stars to nine orders of magnitude; each with an engraved brass hour dial and meridian, the signed paper horizons with calendrical dials and celestial maps, supported on four quadrants meeting at a central turned column with three swept legs and acorn bun feet united with cross-stretchers bearing original, signed, 32-point compass roses with blued steel needles.
