signed and dated 'Uecker 66' (on the side of the Nagelkasten); signed and dated 'Uecker 66' (on the reverse of the Nagelkasten)
a partially painted wooden crate containing a steel Nagel
nail: 178 x 17 x 17 cm.
crate: 180.5 x 29 x 18.5 cm.
Executed in 1966, the crate is unique, the Nagel is the prototype for the edition of fifty from 1977 and for the edition of one-hundred from 1989

Artax Kunsthandel OHG, Dusseldorf.
Wilfried Hoffmeister, Ludenscheid (acquired from the above in 1988).
Thence by descent to the present owner.
