Finely painted and hand-tooled in white slip with six children at play beneath a tree, within a gilt surround tooled with trailing foliage, within green line bands, with foliate 'bronzed' rim

Specialist note

The AM monogram is likely that of Arthur Morgan, who was apprenticed to Solon at Minton from c1877. According to Bernard Bumpus, Morgan's designs often featured children (see Pâte-sur-Pâte, London, 1992, p. 223).
