Specialist note

Thomas Fentham, carver, gilder, glass grinder and picture-frame maker, occupied several addresses in the Strand between 1774 and 1825. He worked from 136 The Strand between 1794-1820. His label appears on closely related pier glasses illustrated in C. Gilbert, Pictorial Dictionary of Marked London Furniture 1700-1840, Leeds, 1996, pp. 200-203.
