Automatic jewelled lever movement, dark blue dial on a silvered plate, applied dagger numerals with luminous accents on a dark blue raised outer ring, oval pierced blued steel hands painted yellow with pointed luminous tips, three engine turned subsidiary dials for dual time, alarm setting, and alarm countdown, double aperture for date at 4 o'clock, on/off indicator for alarm at 9 o'clock, large circular water-resistant-type case, crown at 3 o'clock to wind/set the time and alarm, crown at 9 to set the date with a button to turn on/off alarm indicator, time zone pushers to set the yellow hour hand at 8 o'clock to advance and at 4 o'clock to reverse, large down-turned stepped lugs, case back secured by six screws, 18k white gold Ulysse Nardin deployant clasp, case, dial, and movement signed

Ulysse Nardin's Sonata wristwatch was in development for seven years with contributions by Dr. Ludwig Oechslin, Pierre Gygax and Lucas Humair. The watch includes a patented self-winding in-house caliber and features a novel alarm with countdown indicator and dual time system with instant time zone adjustor. The patented dual time function allows the wearer to adjust the time zone forward or backward using pushers in the band. The alarm and countdown adjust automatically when a time zone adjustment is made, and the alarm can be set twenty-four hours in advance.
