Jiro Yoshihara (1905 - 1972)

Jiro Yoshihara was the older and acknowledged leader of the Gutai group. He worked in surrealist and abstract styles before turning, in his final years, to the repeated depiction of circles. He produced both paintings and lithographic prints of the form (see lots 147-149).
