Each with a panther-form handle above an Apollo mask, the tapering body with central band cast with a procession of putti and wild beasts, with leaf and guilloche lower section, on foliate-cast spreading foot and square base
13 ½ in. (34.2 cm.) high

Specialist note

A vase with very similar 'panther'-form handle, signed by the silversmith Nicolas Delaunay and dated 1697, is in the Cathedral Museum at Poitiers, France (see les Trésors des Eglises de France, Exhibition Catalogue, Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris, 1965, p. 187, no. 347).
