Samuel Hieronymous Grimm (1733-1794)

It is thought that the gentleman on horseback is William Frankland (1720-1805) who purchased Muntham Court in 1765. Frankland was MP for Thirsk and had also spent twenty years previously serving in Bengal for the East India Company. (The History of Parliament: the House of Commons 1754-1790, ed. L. Namier, J.
