Specialist note

The maker for the mark 'ADV' is not known, however, a study of makers listed in E. Catello, Argenti Napoletani dal XVI al XIX Secolo, Naples, 1973, p. 173, suggests Antonio de Vietri is a possible candidate for the mark. He became a master in 1692. Another candidate Stefano de Vietri, was Assay Master in 1692, 1695 and 1701.
