Each with reeded frame and later buttoned leather squab cushions and padded arms, on baluster turned tapering reeded legs and brass castors stamped 'B S & P'

Specialist note

This bergere chair form was known in 1803 as an 'Ashburnham' chair according to Gillows Estimate Sketch Book of that year. Related chair patterns feature in the firm's early 19th-century room plans preserved at the Victoria & Albert Museum.
