Darryl F. Zanuck (1902-1979) was a self-made American film executive and producer, who became one of Hollywood’s biggest golden age studio bosses. After his success at Warner Bros. writing and producing the series Rin Tin Tin, he co-founded 20th Century Pictures which became the most successful independent movie studio of the 1930s, even before buying out Fox Studios and becoming 20th Century Fox.
He had a great sense of popular taste and produced hit films such as Les Misérables, All about Eve, The Longest Day and Cleopatra, winning several Oscars. He is honoured with a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Darryl F. Zanuck (1902-1979) produced some of the most important and controversial films in Hollywood. He co-founded 20th Century-Fox studios and helped entertain moviegoers as a producer for over 50 years. During his tenure he produced such notable pictures as The Grapes of Wrath, How Green Was My Valley, Wilson, The Razor’s Edge, Gentleman’s Agreement, All about Eve and The Longest Day. Many of his films garnered Academy Award nominations, with three of his films winning for Best Motion Picture. Darryl F. Zanuck was also a three-time recipient of the Irving Thalberg Award.
