Reference 5296 was introduced in 2005 and pays tribute to the firm's celebrated Calatrava model from the 1930s. Available in white or pink gold only, the smooth case is of the distinctive, classic round Calatrava style of reference 96 and stands out by its large size. The appealing graphic design of the dial is inspired from a late 1930s historical "Calatrava" wristwatch, on permanent exhibition at Patek Philippe's prestigious museum in Geneva. With its double railway track scale, this well-proportioned two-tone silvered dial adds a subtle technical flourish to reference 5296.

With its modern yet ageless design, reference 5296 immediately became a classic amongst collectors.
