A GEORGE IV MAHOGANY AND INDIAN ROSEWOOD WRITING TABLE
ATTRIBUTED TO GILLOWS, CIRCA 1820-30
The rectangular top with split bead-and-reel moulded edge above one genuine and faux drawer to each long side on spindle-panelled splayed end-supports
29.1/2 in. (75 cm.) high; 34.1/2 in. (87.5 cm.) wide; 20.1/2 in. (52 cm.) deep

Almost certainly acquired by Charles William Vane, 3rd Marquess
of Londonderry (1778-1854) and by descent from Gillows, who
the Londonderry accounts show were by far the largest suppliers of
furniture for Wynyard Park prior to the fire of 1841.
