FIRST EDITION. Speechly, an agriculturist born near Peterborough, Northamptonshire, was mainly known for his skill in growing pineapples and grapes. In 1779 he issued a treatise on the Culture of the Pine Apple which was followed in 1790 by the present work. BMC, vol 23, p. 1128 (235).
