Each with a reeded tablet back and uprights with anthemion-carved scroll brackets, on reeded sabre legs headed by roundels and on castors, the Regency chair inscribed and dated Atkinson 1811

The dated signature on the Regency chair is probably that of the architect William Atkinson (d.1839) whose designs in the Grecian and Gothic Revival styles were employed throughout his commissions in the British Isles, including Chiddingstone Castle, Lismore Castle and Scone Palace.
