A GEORGE II SILVER CREAMBOAT
APPARENTLY UNMARKED, CIRCA 1745, ATTRIBUTED TO EDWARD WAKELIN
Boat-shaped on oval foot cast and applied with a turtle and a lizard, the sides cast and applied with a frolicking kid on one side and a lamb on the other, the scroll handle terminating in a kid's mask, later engraved with a crest with duke's coronet above
5 in. (12.7 cm.) high
14 oz. (461 gr.)
The crest is that of Innes, for the Dukes of Roxburgh

A similar creamboat, also unmarked was sold, The Reksten Collection, Christie's London, 22 May 1991, lot 80.
An almost identical example by Edward Wakelin was sold, Sotheby's, 17 November, 1960, lot 151 and is illustrated in Elaine Barr, George Wickes, 1980, p. 68.
