Specialist note

According to the Archives of Montres Breguet, the present watch was sold on 21 January 1928 to M. Kosloff for the amount of 12'640 French Francs.

The "heures sautantes" watch offered here for sale is a very fine specimen of this epitome of Art Deco style, made by Breguet from around 1927 until 1945 both as pocket and as wristwatch, the system patented by the Swiss watchmaker Robert Cart around 1925. It is one of the very few examples of this model cased in platinum to appear in public, furthermore distinguished by its very good original overall condition.
This model is also known as "Chronoscope", name derived from the Greek words "chronos" for time and "scope" for range or sector. It stands for an instrument for accurate measurements of small intervals of time.
