This gueridon is after the model made in 1786 by Gaspard Schneider (maître 1786) with mounts by Thomire. The original is displayed at the Petit Trianon, Versailles. François Linke made variations of this celebrated table; see for instance Sotheby's, New York, 24 October 2007, lot 342.
