Lot 16 Adolph Gottlieb (1903-1974)
Born in New York in 1903, Gottlieb was the first American artist to work with Stamperia d’Arte 2RC and paved the way for many others to do so. The artist’s eagerness to work with the Rossi family was a result of seeing the first etching produced by Alberto Burri. With only limited time to work at the studio, two works were produced, each conveying a delicate, glowing warmth and subtle vibrancy of tone - an effect heightened, not diminished by the printing process.
