Note du spécialiste

James Schulz was an independent New York-based watchmaker who began his career at Tiffany & Co., and later worked with Cartier to design and create timepieces. He launched his own business in 1924, and is best known for custom made complicated timepieces. In the 1920's, he conceived the idea to fit the complications of a pocketwatch into the case of a wristwatch. His rare and unique platinum minute repeating perpetual calendar single button chronograph button sold at Christie's in November 2006 for over 1.3 million Swiss Francs.
