Follower of Polidoro da Caravaggio

This drawing is related to one of Polidoro's most popular compositions, an Adoration of the Shepherds recorded in an original drawing which is now in the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid. This composition was engraved by Cornelis Cort in 1569 and this drawing, with its crisp lines and high finish, appears to be a copy after that much-copied print.
