Cal. UN-201 mechanical lever movement with patented dual direct escapement, 28 jewels, blue matt dial with silvered Arabic numerals on crystal chapter ring, upper bridge with pavé-set diamond arrowhead fitted with the balance wheel and the dual direct escapement as the minute hand, a similar arrangement mounted below for the hour hand, circular case, pavé-set diamond bi-directional bezel for setting of the time, 28'800 V/h plaque below the bezel flips up to allow the bezel to rotate to set the time, pavé-set diamond lugs, unidirectional rotating glazed display back with ridged crown for winding and revealing the mainspring, 18k white gold Ulysse Nardin double deployant clasp, case and movement signed

The ingenious and unusual design of the 7-Day Carrousel Tourbillon by Dr. Ludwig Oechslin, a scientist, inventor, historian and watchmaker, allows the owner to set and wind the watch without a crown and to read the time without traditional hands. The watch can beat for seven days when fully wound and the movement rotates once an hour without the need for any lubrication. It is also the first time piece ever produced that features an escapement etched out of polycrystalline cultured diamond. This material neither expands nor contracts and is free from electric and magnetic influences.
